How many times have I heard the sentence, Know yourself.
A big question to ask and let alone to be answered. Maybe we could just know ourselves a little better, just well enough.
I would like to paraphrase something I heard once in an interview with Osho: The first problem with the question “What am I?” is: Who is going to answer you?
Hence it is not a question that you ask verbally. The way to ask is like a man who’s been walking in the desert and who hasn’t had anything to drink in a few days. Such a man is not going around verbalizing the situation by saying I’m thirsty. I’m thirsty. He’ll feel the thirst in every cell of his body.
Maybe it is with that kind of attitude, with that kind of feeling, that we have to ask the question, What am I?
